School Programme |
Cultural Heritage × Inclusive Experience

We have always believed that education is the cornerstone of cultural preservation and building an inclusive society. Specially designed by the Culture Heir Hong Kong, the "Cultural Heritage School Programme" focuses on Hong Kong’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). It combines hands-on practice with learning about its historical and cultural context, training three key groups—students, parents, and teachers—to work together in promoting cultural roots and diversity both within and beyond the school campus. The programme fosters a greater appreciation for traditional culture and cultivates a caring culture of intergenerational learning.

Through a series of interactive workshops, skill-building practices, and cultural immersion activities, students get to create traditional handicraft ICH items such as miniature Fa Pai (Flower plaque) and lion dance heads firsthand. This practical experience helps them understand the historical context and cultural spirit behind these crafts, enhancing their sense of local identity and mission to carry traditions forward. Parents and teachers, through participating in shared learning, deepen their understanding of cultural preservation and inclusive education, learning innovative ways to support youth in sustaining traditions and collectively creating a learning environment rich in cultural depth and inclusivity.

Programme Features

01.

ICH Hands-on Practice

Revitalising traditions through tactile experiences, making culture something that can be touched, felt, and re-created.

02.

Cross-generational Learning Model

Active participation of students, parents, and teachers together, fostering intergenerational dialogue and collaboration.

03.

Extended Cultural Learning

Following the workshop, teachers can guide students to extend the practical experience into deeper classroom learning. Through project-based learning, analysis of cultural context, and creative brainstorming, students systematically explore the historical origins, social significance, and contemporary value behind traditional crafts.

04.

Community Cultural Connections

Extension to community guided tours and artisan sharing sessions, strengthening the social inclusion network.
